Photes

I am depressed that the photos of my prints are so monumentally crap, especially as I am really quite pleased with the prints themselves. Luckily they are being re-shot at a studio by my friend, so they will (fingers crossed) no longer look rubbish. They'll be up soon, I promise.

Grizzly Greatness.

I am currently obsessed with this band, Grizzly Bear. This song is super beautiful, and the video is a bit dotty, just like the music. Killer name too.

Town Mouse, Country Mouse.

Here is some of my recent print work. It looks awful in the photos because most of it is black on black: I'm working on cotton velvet with inks and binders that are glossy, so the effects are very subtle. Sadly the photos make the velvet look dull and all the print work look white. Rubbish. But you get the idea (I hope).

What an Idiot

I've been looking at contemporary artists re-inventing the craft of taxidermy, and came across this Dutch pair, Afke Golsteijn and Floris Bakker, who go by the name "Idiots". Far from it I think, their stuff is stunning.

Another fantastic artist using taxidermy is Polly Morgan, so look here http://www.pollymorgan.co.uk/

Summer Jaunt, Merci Beaucoup.

I like skeletons, so I went to Paris for the day, to the Musee Nationale d'Histoire Naturelle, where they have LOADS. The museum is the tits, there is another building which has got the best display of animals ever, but it was too dark to take photos. Also I love that everything has got sexy handwritten labels. So if you're in Paris, sack off the Louvre and go here instead. OUI?

Fantastic Mr Fox and Friends

I've been drawing an awful lot lately, here are some of my favourites. They're done with a dip pen, with a mapping nib, and ink. I love drawing with inks, so I tend not to draw with anything else.
